Outdoor family room garden landscaping
Transforming the remains of a building site into a lush, family-friendly, outdoor living space was the basis of this project in suburban Remuera. Once the client was happy with the home landscaping design we drew up, work commenced.
With a tight deadline for completion and having to work between the house construction and pool installation there were more than a few home garden landscaping challenges facing the landscaping team. Plant selection was a critical part of the job as the client wanted to create an immediate impact with a well-established, mature garden.
One interesting feature involved creating a roof garden above a garage. This required both design finesse and technical expertise to ensure its safe completion. A special lightweight planting mix was used and a specialised hydraulic digger which enabled easier access in an otherwise tricky environment.
Communication, patience and persistence were some of the hallmarks of this challenging 10 week project which in the words of the client created “a lovely living outcome".

Pierce Landscaping was commissioned to implement a comprehensive landscaping plan that was integrated with our new house in suburban Remuera.
The job was to turn a typical building site which had been left like a bombsite and work with the builders and the pool guy to create a liveable haven in the shortest possible time.
Plant selection was a critical part of this job as we wanted to create a mature environment from day one. Pierce Landscaping reviewed the proposed plant selection, made suggestions and then selected bigger specimens.
