Back to front garden design
The clients had just recently completed extensions to the home, including having the whole house repainted. The final step was to revamp the gardens in both the front and back of the house with garden planning.
With the help of our garden design advice, the client was able to choose from a list of garden designs and ideas to put his garden project into the making.
Poor drainage had created bog-like conditions in the winter, so this became the first step in the garden redesign. The next step was a planting plan that would withstand the rigours of a young family while preserving the seclusion offered, particularly in the back garden.
Chequerboard paving at the front created a strong presence which we bordered with soft planting to complement the traditional style of the house.

Having just completed recent extensions to our home, including having the whole house repainted the only area that needed some attention was the garden. Living in Orakei on what I would call a potter's dream section, we were at a loss as to where to start.
Chris Pierce came over and we worked on a strategy. He suggested we have the front garden properly drained because over the winter one could literally not walk out onto the front lawn without getting bogged down. While we organised this Chris worked on landscaping plans.
We were impressed with what Chris came up with. He had interpreted exactly the look and feeling we wanted to ivoke in our garden. Having a young boy with a "wild" dog we wanted plants that could withstand a bit of rough and tumble. Chris 'listened' and was able to meet our requirements.
When the Pierce men arrived on the first day they introduced themselves with confidence and got down to work. Their team work is remarkable and the pace they are able to work at is admirable. They consulted with me often and were always willing to listen to and explain our tedious questions.
